Punters practise a number of football betting strategies and the correct score strategy is one of them.

The Correct Score Strategy:

In this betting strategy, the results are difficult to predict. Thus, you need to know the proper details and tricks to get it right. Odds for getting it right are 7/1 or above. You can get only 2 or at the most 3 bets right out of the10 games that you bet upon.

In addition, many times, you may not receive even a single correct bet..Thus, out of 10, if you get 2 right, it is a profit. No person or site can ever get all the scores correct. So, be aware of sites that boast all scores correct.

Some Tips for Correct Score Strategy.

1.Singles

Bet for 1 Frank on at least 10 league games. Here, you will make profit or fair money, if you get one or more right, depending on the score you select and the odds you get.

2. Doubles

Choose two matches to bet upon. Place a small amount on double, that is the winning team in both the matches. Multiply it with the odds. If executed wisely, you can make good money.

3. Lucky 15

Choose 4 correct scores at around 16/1. Cover all singles, doubles, triples and one quadruple out of these 4 games. Correct scores work effectively for lucky 15 permutations.

4. Correct score or first goal scorer double

Here, you predict the first goal scorer and get a double bet. Thus, select two double scorers, as there are other players too, who can make the first goal.

Football (Soccer) Betting Strategy – Discover Winning by Picking Draws

There are punters who like the ‘draw’ market as it pays well. One common argument among these ‘draw’ punters is “Are draws independent of form, that is, are they random?”. There are two views :

* One view is that draws are independent of previous results, that each match is different. These punters do not accept the theory that a draw is due just because it has not happened for a long time. They believe that the match outcome depends on circumstances and conditions of that particular game, for example : attacking and defending capabilities of both teams, weather on that day, pitch condition, etc.

* There are opposing punters who feel strongly that the probability of draws depends on the previous games, that it boils down to the psychology and mentality of the players of the ‘drawish’ teams.

Irrespective of whatever camp these draw specialists are in, all of them agree that draw bets are more worthwhile compared to betting Home or Away as the average odds are more attractive.

In picking winning ‘draws’, the following factors are to be considered :

1) It is essential to choose the teams instead of choosing the matches, that draw is largely due to the style of play, such as :

* Defensive style and struggling to attack will tend to draw more.

* Attacking formation and tactics will not draw too often.

2) If a certain team draws a few matches, analyse why :

* Does the team have problems scoring? If yes, why. (Is the key striker injured?)

* Is the team renowned for tight defence?

* Is it psychological? Maybe a team on a long losing run may try harder just to get at least a point, that is, a draw.

3) The following trends in matches ending with a draw are common :

* Matches where both teams are happy with a point, for example, a draw is sufficient for both to avoid relegation or to qualify for a cup competition.

* Matches played in poor weather conditions like heavy rain which usually lead to less goals and higher chance for a draw.

* Derby matches where a draw may satisfy both parties.

* Home team in great form against Away team in strong top table position.

4) Teams which draw a lot with each other repeatedly could mean :

* They are equal in strength.

* There is some kind of psychological impact that it is tough for one of them to break the other down.

5) Do take note of the following :

* If a team has been drawing a lot, and if it has appointed a new manager, wait a few matches to determine if this team is still drawing frequently.

* Be cautious with newly promoted and newly relegated teams where performance can be erratic.

* Teams improving in form which may be more likely to draw playing Away.

Conclusion

Some leagues appear to have either a higher or lower percentage of draws compared to others. This could be due to the characteristics of the leagues in terms of competitiveness, or even prevalence of match fixing. This is why some bookmakers do not offer odds on certain minor European league matches at the end of the season.

Important Strategy on Winning Football Betting – "Cover Your Bets"

Every football game has various vital strategies that one needs to learn in a right manner. Moreover, it is always advisable to bet in two groups, since if any one of the individual looses, then the other can still carry on the game and accordingly, make up for the losses. However, if both the groups win, then the joy and the prize money can be shared amongst them.

Therefore, irrespective of any strategy been chosen by an individual, its always wise to choose “cover your bets” strategy. Moreover, “cover you bets” is an important strategy, which not many understand and thus, end up losing the game. Even if a long shot bet assures one win against 100, then an individual should wisely place a bet on some other team, which can get him or her more profits, frequently than a long shot. If an individual intends placing a bet of amount close to £1.50 on a particular 15 lucky long shots, then there might be cases where these lucky 15 long shots might not always win every week.

However, these 15 lucky long shots surely will generate high amount of profits. Therefore, a new player always hopes to win every week and accordingly, makes profit for himself. However, the ace players do not expect much from these bets, as they know that the chances of wining are absolutely unpredictable. However, if there are two teams comprising of team A and team B and if A is an ace team and B is just a runner up, then one must surely try to place the bet of amount £1.50 on team A, in order to win over the other team B by 1/1. However, if team B happens to win, then the team can make money, but it involves a lot of risk. Therefore, it is always advisable not to utilize the entire money on bet and instead make use of the strategy “cover yourself”.

However, newer players try investing their money in smaller players in the hope of gaining money or staying away from the risk of losing big amount. Here, what they do not understand is that, immaterial of a new or an ace player, one should try running after bigger teams, as it ensures win, helps team building, and thus makes one gain confidence.

What Are the Odds of Winning the Football Pools?

Winning the football pools on a regular basis seems like a dream (or pure fancy) to many people. It can be done though, if you have a system. How can you work the odds? It’s a question that a lot of people ask!

Let’s look at the basic odds. With a coupon of 49 matches (games), we are looking to identify a winning line of 8 score draws on the British treble chance pools if we are to win a 1st Dividend (a score draw or SD is a result in which both teams end up with the same number of goals, not zero). If we stake on 1 line only (nobody does, but leave that aside for now), then the odds of selecting the correct 8 matches from 49 are approximately 450 million to 1. With the UK lottery the odds are 14 million to 1 for a six number combination, by comparison.

If we stake 45,000 lines in an entry, then that reduces the odds (on a purely random basis), to about 10,000 to 1. That’s getting a whole lot better. Now, there are complications. There will not always be 8 SD results on a given coupon, and sometimes there may be as many as 15 or even more. During the latter part of 2009, the number of drawn matches (both SD and no-score draw) varied between 12% (1 no score and 5 score draws) and 38% (5 no-score and 13 SDs) of the coupon. The maximum number of score draws during that 12 week period was 14. See the accompanying chart.

Let’s take a week on which there are 13 score draws as an example. With 13 such draws, there are 1,287 possible combinations of the 8 needed for a 1st Dividend. This helps our odds considerably – 10,000 to 1 becomes 7.77 to 1 (ok, 8 to 1 to keep it simple). That’s with a random selection of our 45,000 lines.

Now, just suppose that football teams play to form (not always or consistently true), but let’s say that we can predict draw games with 60% accuracy within our selections. This means that we are 20% better on the odds (10% edge above 50% random). So, odds of 8 to 1 now become 6.4 to 1 (or 13/2 if we were betting on horses). There are other ways of sharpening the odds in our favour, and a lot more to working a system, but I hope that this article has given you a flavour!
